Dreamcatcher by, Steven King
This is a story about an alien invasion of sorts. Once you get past King's over use of profanity you find yourself in the midst of a story about 4 men who have known each other since they were kids. When they were younger they had an incident which introduced them to a mentally retarded child that they called duddits. Although you don't learn about him right away he does come into play during the guys hunting trip when they start of having flashbacks of the past.
During their hunting trip an alien force has landed in the forest that they are hunting in. The government shows up and quarentines the entire area to try to cover up anything that is happening. During this chain of events they all realise that none of them have ever been the same since the day they met duddits.
One of the 4 guys gets "taken over" by one of the aliens. The interactions between the two of them provides some comedic relief in the otherwise scary concept of alien invasion. There are some gory parts in this book as well. By the end of the book you are left wondering if everthing actually happened the way you imagined it did.

Movies
This movie stars Uma Thurman, Lucy Lui, and lots of other big stars. This film is by Quentin Terruntino. The story is about this girl who is betrayed by her baby's father and his henchmen/women. She is put into a coma after she is shot in the head. Then all of a sudden she wakes up and decides to get back at all of them. It was a really good movie. If you like the anime type things and samurai's, then you'll love this movie. PS. Lots of blood!

Music
My Private Nation by, Train
"On Train's third album, My Private Nation, Pat Monahan, Charlie Colin, Jimmy Stafford, and Scott Underwood break down stereotypes while exploring human vulnerability. Where the group's previous album, 2001's Drops Of Jupiter, presented a band discovering how much it meant to its fans, My Private Nation reveals a band finding out just how much it has grown." This is a comment found on Train's website biography page at http://www.trainline.com/. When I was first introduced to Train's CD with "Drop's of Jupiter" on it in 2001, I was hooked! It's a song that reminded me of Don McClean's, "American Pie". So many words that didn't make sense but opened your mind up to what really did. Give it a whirl. They are releasing "My Private Nation" this month - June, 2003. It has "Drops of Jupiter" on it.
