Here's a chance for you to contribute.

This is a section devoted to conversation between you, the guild members, and me, the editor of this newsletter.  They can be anything from "Why do you like neopets?" to "My kid ran away; what do i do?"  This will be a "Dear Abby" type section, so you can ask anything you want.  This is also a section where we will post comments and suggestions from you, the reader.  So whether you're telling me I'm doing a great job, asking for me to put in something that you'd like to see, asking me about myself, or asking me for advice, it will all be right here!

Please explain to us grown adults your opinion as to why this game, Neopets, is so addicting.  Why is it one of the first things we do in the morning and one of the last before bedtime?  Why is it that when we take a break from cleaning that we run to check in on our Neopets?  Why is it that we can remember to play the "wheels", get our freebies; we remember the times the Snowager sleeps but yet we have to write RL things down on a calendar?

Well, as far as I can tell, Neopets is so addicting because of the way it's set up to draw you in.  For all of us who play, we are people who generally care about others - sometimes more than ourselves.  Therefore all of us caring people cant simply create an account with pets and abandon it the next day!  We care about the pets we create.  We name them after our children, our pets, our families and loved ones.  We cannot bear to think about our pets living unattended and "starving."  As for the remember thing - well, I've always believed we only remember those things which are truely important to us.  If you can't remember when your doctor appointment is, there's probably some underlying issue in your psyche which wants you to forget the appointment and therefore not see the doctor.  However, like I mentioned, we are all caring people and we always remember to get our freebies and play neogames because this, in turn, makes our pets happy and that makes us happy!  Neopets is one giant happy-creating circle!  :)
